A bit of history with Yves Chrétien, founder of the Venetian Carnival of Remiremont

"Keeping my Venetian joys to myself, my raptures over masks and costumes during the Venice Carnival, in St. Mark's Square or along the canals of the magical city, could no longer be tolerated! After years of deliberation, I finally gave in in 1996: I had to share this pleasure with those around me, in my beloved town of Remiremont. Rich in architecture, steeped in French history, imbued with the past of noble ladies, abbesses and canonesses... Remiremont is a magnificent setting for Marquises and Marquises, but also for these eccentric Masked and Costumed revelers, with their new, melancholic, romantic, and original style. Grand street, squares adorned with fountains, palaces, abbey church—what a natural backdrop for parading these sumptuous Venetian costumes!Yves Chrétien, founder of the Venetian Carnival of Remiremont
