Spring, with its thousand shades of green, the birds singing their hearts out, the flowers blooming… Once winter is behind us, it’s the ideal season to rediscover this awakening nature and set off again on the trails.
Looking to get some fresh air and make new discoveries? Here are 5 ideas for activities to do in the spring in the Secret Vosges.
1 – Admire the landscapes and the beauty of nature in spring
Located west of Gérardmer and southeast of Épinal, the Remiremont Plombières region offers a perfect blend of plains, valleys, and mountains. On the Vosges Mountains side, fir forests alternate with fields of daffodils and other spring flowers. On the other side, deciduous forests display magnificent shades of green and invite leisurely walks.
It's the perfect season for a family outing to enjoy this renewal. In Saint-Nabord, children will particularly enjoy the walk around the Étang de la Demoiselle and its peat bog, with its many things to discover thanks to the interpretive panels.
Don't miss the awakening of nature in our unique gardens. In Plombières-les-Bains, the Terraced Gardens can be explored freely all year round. In Girmont-Val-d'Ajol, the edible forest, Une Figue dans le Poirier (A Fig in the Pear Tree), welcomes you from May onwards.

2 – Discover the 3 hidden waterfalls of the Vosges Mountains
In spring, the waterfalls of the Vosges are at the height of their beauty! The melting snow and the rains of the beginning of the year have filled them with water: in their green setting, they offer a magnificent spectacle to the soothing sound of the water.

At the summit, bathed in sunshine, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the mountains and nature awakening.

5 – Take the time to (re)discover the local heritage
But spring, with its beautifully flowered villages and rising temperatures, is also the ideal season to (re)discover local heritage! In Remiremont, the tour guides from the tourist office offer numerous guided tours focusing on the history and architecture of Remiremont.
To continue your exploration of heritage, don't miss a visit to the Charles Friry and Charles de Bruyères museums.
