Fishing day at the Chêna pond, in Éloyes

Posted on 20 June 2022

Thursday, May 26 in the morning, some friends and I went for a day of fishing at the Etang du Chêna in Eloyes. I had never been fishing, but since the weather was nice, I was ready to bask quietly at the edge of the water. We then decided to bring the aperitif and the picnic, and we met for noon.

Between fishing and walking around the pond

As the fishing pros unpack their gear, stools, and rods at the water's edge, a friend and I pull out the picnic. We also take the opportunity to go around the pond on foot, to chat and enjoy this calm and peaceful nature.

The walk is really pleasant and allows us to see ducks swimming on the surface.

Picnic by the water

We return to our fishing spot and continue our picnic. It is quietly, with a pleasant sun, but all the same in the shade of the trees, that we lunch various sandwiches and salads.
Until then, no fish takes the bait...

After this hearty lunch, we take a nap accompanied by the singing of birds and the wind in the trees.

A more or less successful fishing!

The fishermen then return to the edge of the water, hoping this time to catch something. After the picnic everyone went fishing.

A friend and I managed to catch a very small fish. We were proud but this fish was not meant to be caught. So we put it back in the water. Then two more of the same size followed.

It is on this note that our day of fishing ends. We had a relaxing day, and we were able to decompress. The Chêna pond is a pleasant place where we are far from mass tourism, and gives a real feeling of change of scenery.
