Home - Our inspiration - Sun and snow during a hike in Saint-Mont: suspended moment guaranteed!
Take to the skies this weekend during a hike on the heights of Saint-Étienne-Lès-Remiremont and Saint-Amé, on the emblematic site of Saint-Mont!
This weekend, we were lucky to have a wonderful sunny day in the Vosges and we had to take advantage of it. The opportunity therefore presented itself to take a little height and set off to discover the Saint-Mont.
We park near the Pont des Fées, we access it from Saint-Étienne-Lès-Remiremont via the place called Saint-Romary. A motorable path allows us to park as close as possible. We are lucky, there is still not too much snow when we go there, but we have to be careful all the same, the road is not always very clear of snow because it is small and the path does not is not at all. We advise against venturing there if the snow is too present!
We cross the Fairy Bridge. This stone wall is impressive by its size and curious by its origins which remain mysterious even today. You can start to follow the blue disc markings that lead to Saint-Mont.
From there, the Saint-Mont is desired: we begin the climb. The ascent to the top is not very long but quite demanding. Promise, it's worth it! Up there, the view is magnificent.
Once there, our eye is drawn to the right by a breathtaking view of the town of Remiremont and the valley that heads towards Épinal, and to the left by the very pretty chapel that overlooks the site. The landscape is clear, the sun is indeed present and the snow makes this moment magical. The mist at the bottom of the valley gives the impression of a suspended moment, as if time had stopped and the snow had frozen everything.
The site is very well laid out with many benches. Although they are all snowy, we know that we will come back to enjoy this place, its history and its view in other seasons!
We take a few photos, stay a little while to enjoy the whole site, go around behind the main building for a view this time over the Moselotte valley, before returning to our starting point.
We do not regret for a single moment this outing to Saint-Mont, despite the cold and the elevation, quickly forgotten once there!
