Our protected nature

In the Secret Vosges, we love our nature and we protect it. Sensitive natural areas, Natura 2000 areas or the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park: many areas exist to preserve the fauna and flora that compose them.

Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park

Our destination includes 3 municipalities located in the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges: Plombières-les-Bains, Le Val-d'Ajol and Girmont-Val-d'Ajol. Created in 1989 on the initiative of the two regions Grand Est and Bourgogne Franche-Comté, this Natural Park extends over 4 departments over nearly 3000 km2 including 1600 km2 of forest.

The park offers a multitude of environments with fir forests, high meadows, peat bogs, glacial cirques, rocky cliffs, lakes and rivers.

tranquility attitude

As a territory associated with the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park, certain spaces have been delimited within the framework of the Quiétude Attitude programme. Its purpose is to make the public aware of the existence of tranquility zones for wildlife and to present the good reflexes to adopt in the natural environment to preserve the tranquility of the most fragile species.
