Venice invites itself to Remiremont for 4 days of magic!

From March 21 to 24, 2024, in a highlighted architecture, the city of Chanoinesses hosts the 27th edition of the event.

During these four days of Venetian Magic, the streets and squares of the city are invaded by costumed people! Comedians of el Arte, Poudrés and Eccentrics perform in public for a grand opera. Street orchestras, sound, sound and light: everything is staged in the city so that the costumed expose themselves to the gaze of amazed visitors.

The atmosphere is made up of dreams, smiles, elegance, sweetness... But beware, the costumed don't talk! In Remiremont, silence is golden. It is indeed Venice that invites itself to Remiremont through the intermediary of the mask and the artistic costume. Visitors take part in languorous walks in costume. All the animations are free.

Thursday March 21

From 20 p.m., come and discover intimacy the world of the Venetian Carnival, on a background of lights adorning the facades of the city. Romantic musical atmosphere.

Friday 22 March

Free wandering of Venetian costumes in the streets and squares of Remiremont.

At 20h30, the majestic procession by lantern light illuminates the squares and streets of the city. Theatrical presentation by the casanovas in front of the abbey church: they lead the costumed people in their wake towards the town hall square. In a cozy atmosphere, all these Venetian people present themselves to you on the stands.

Saturday March, 23

From 9 a.m., the photo shoots take place in the most beautiful areas of the city.

In the courtyard of the media library, photo session and concert by the “Tous en Trad” orchestra from 11 a.m. You will find this traditional music from the Morvan for a second concert, at 15 p.m. on the Place de la Libération (Fontaine du Cygne).

At 20:30 p.m., come and discover the parade of costumes and casanovas in a lively musical atmosphere, under the magic lights of the projectors.

Sunday 24 March

In the morning, the costumed stroll as they please in the city.

At 11 a.m., meet at Place de Mesdames for the last concert of “Tous en Trad” and memorable photographic memories with Venetian costumes.

From 15 p.m., attend the legendary parade in the rue des arcades (rue Charles de Gaulle). With music, with courtesy and elegance, this languorous walk takes over the arcades before returning to the famous platforms of the abbey district at 16 p.m.

Around 17:30 p.m., to the rhythm of the anthem of the Venetian Carnival of Remiremont, the casanovas meet next year. To thank them for their valuable help, a new tribute will be paid to them. In an innovative way, it will be the turn of the costumed people to tenderly hold their hands.

The exhibition "The Journey of Marco Polo” is held from Saturday March 16 to Sunday March 24, at the Gilbert Zaug cultural center. To discover: the works of Éric CLAUDE (distinguished painter and guest of honor), Joël DAVAN (photographer) and the Camille Claudel School of Sculpture in Remiremont. Without forgetting the slideshows by photographers Michel CARL, Jacky MONNIN, Francis AUBERTIN and Dominique DELBERT.

Le traditional Venetian market sets up shop on rue de la Franche-Pierre on Friday 22, Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 March from 9:30 a.m. to 18 p.m. Whether you are in costume or a visitor, you will be charmed by this typical market. As you walk along this pedestrian street, you can choose ornaments, feathers, lace or even jewellery.
