The Noirgueux stele commemorates the crossing of the Moselle by the soldiers of the 36th American Infantry Division on September 21, 1944, at a place called Noirgueux, who fought there at the risk of their lives to liberate the town of Remiremont. A commemorative ceremony with realistic reconstructions takes place every year on the anniversary date. An educational trail dedicated to the Noirgueux moraine has been created by the municipality of Saint-Nabord.
